Costa de la Calma is a well-known residential area that stretches between Santa Ponça and Paguera. On its coastline the beach of Cala Blanca is to be found and which is characterised for its rocks and the different entrances it has into the sea, as well as a diversity of small coves.
Costa de la Calma first appeared in the annals of the history of Mallorca when the King of Aragon Pedro IV landed on the shore in the year 1343 before conquering the island and overthrowing Jaime III of Mallorca. Costa de la Calma celebrates its yearly festivities from the 4th to the l5th of August together with the locality known as El Toro. Costa de la Calma combines the significance of its name, that is to say calmness or tranquillity, with the typical touristic activity common to all coastal localities of the Mediterranean.
